Commercial mechanical, built by union pipefitters.
HVAC, piping, medical gas and geothermal heating and cooling for St. Louis schools, churches and businesses.
Services
Commercial mechanical, start to finish. New construction and replacement.
Geothermal HVAC
Federal credit up to 50%
Ground-source heating and cooling for schools, churches, nonprofits and businesses. We drill and pipe the well field, set the heat pumps and connect them to the building, whether it’s new construction or a replacement for aging rooftop units and boilers.
- Vertical well fields under parking lots, fields and lawns
- Hybrid systems that pair a smaller well field with a boiler or cooler
- Heat pumps that work with existing ductwork where it’s sound
- Union labor that meets federal prevailing wage and apprenticeship rules
Schools, churches and other nonprofits receive the federal credit as a cash payment. Businesses take it against their federal taxes.
HVAC installation
Split systems, heat recovery systems, heat pumps, chilled water systems and VAV systems, installed for new buildings and replacements.
Rooftop units
Setting rooftop HVAC units on new buildings and replacing them on existing ones, including curbs, connections and startup.
Cooling towers
Building and setting cooling towers of all sizes, plus demolition and replacement of old towers.
Gas piping
Gas lines for boilers, commercial kitchen equipment, gas heaters and furnaces.
Medical gas systems
Medical gas piping and systems for hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities.
Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Hoses, lines, connections, components and piping for hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Fire caulking
Fire-rated sealing wherever pipe, duct and other mechanical components pass through fire-rated walls and floors.
Plumbing backing
In-wall supports for toilets, sinks, showers and bathroom accessories, installed before the walls close.
Geothermal HVAC
Geothermal costs more to install. Then the federal government pays 40% of it.
The well field is the expensive part. The federal credit closes the gap, and the system costs less to run for decades after.
Who gets what
The credit is 30% of the geothermal system, plus 10% for U.S.-made materials and another 10% near a retired coal mine or plant, or on a brownfield.
- SchoolsSchools, churches, nonprofits and local governments get a check. They can’t use a tax credit, so the IRS pays them the amount in cash.
- BusinessesTake it off your federal taxes, or sell the credit to another company for cash.
- LifespanThe well field lasts about 50 years. Indoor heat pumps last 20 to 25. Rooftop units last about 15.
For every dollar of a conventional system, using our typical planning estimate. The 40% assumes U.S.-made materials. Your quote will vary with the building and the ground.
Who we are
A pipefitter’s company. Run from the field.
Matt Fischer’s grandfather was a pipefitter who wanted to start his own mechanical contracting company and never got the chance. His family started Fischer Mechanical to finish what he started.
We’re a union shop, signatory with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562, working on commercial, institutional and medical buildings across the St. Louis area.
We run every job from the field: scheduling, coordination with the other trades and production on site.
